The Port Charlotte Beach Complex (Map)
Located at the end of Harbor Blvd in Port Charlotte. Parking fee is .75 an hour or you can purchase yearly permit. Facilities, pool, boat ramp and picnic areas are on site. 4500 Harbor Blvd.
Peace River "Old Florida" Trip (Map)
From I-75, take exit 170 (Kings Hwy. SR 769) and go north toward Arcadia. Go about 3 miles until you see the large black and yellow billboard. Turn right (Peace River St.) and go to the end. That's it. The county ramp is right beside the restaurant and the county parking lot is on the right just before reaching the ramp.
Peace River "Rookery" Trip
The launch area for this trip is off Hwy. 17 just south of the 761 intersection. We call it the Sunny Breeze ramp. From I-75 and Highway 17, Duncan Rd., go north about 9 miles until you see a sign on your left for Sunny Breeze. Turn left there on SW Liverpool Rd. Follow this road to it's end about 2 miles. You will see the ramp and covered picnic area on the left.
Shell Creek
We launch just north of Punta Gorda at "Hathaway Park" on the Washington Loop off hwy. 17. There is a small parking fee at the ramp. Most are .75 an hour. Restrooms available.
Prairie Creek
The launch for Prairie Creek is also on the Washington Loop. The ramp is very primitive and not recommended for first timers as it does require experience getting in and out of your kayak. Parking is limited and there are no facilities.
Sunrise Park
Located on Edgewater Dr. between Harbor Blvd. and Midway Blvd. A kayak and canoe launch area. No facilities, lots of parking - no fees.
Don Pedro State Park
The Don Pedro mainland launch area is a little over 2 miles north of the Placida curve. There is a fairly long hike to the water from the parking area. Bring a cart. Parking fee, facilities. Open 8 to 5.
Wolverton Trails
We launch from Eldred Marina, located just before the bridge to Boca Grande. You'll find a $5 parking fee, facilities, bait shop, and friendly people. I love this place!
