Kayaking Prairie Creek
This is one of my favorite Punta Gorda kayaking destinations. Unfortunately, the launch area and parking area leave much to be desired. I would consider this a difficult launch and not recommended for those who have a hard time getting in and out of kayaks. Once you're in the boat though, you're in for a real treat. Prairie Creek is just beautiful. It, like upper Shell Creek, is all freshwater and you really feel like you've left civilization behind. If I gave ratings, on a scale of 1- 5 this would be a 5.
Parking is limited so this trip is only for small groups of experienced kayakers. If that's you and you haven't done this creek, It's Time!
